The Significance of the Ultrasonographic Screening in Patient with Abdominal Symptom (¥±)

Abstract
For evaluation of the significance of ultrasonographic screening in abdominal symptom patient, the decision matrix of 28 frequent abdominal diseases were estimated by methodology of computer-based record system and analyzing program in single statistical sample, ie, randomized 1068 patients with abdominal symptom.
In author¢¥s result, mean prior probability of various abdominal diseases was 0 and over all, TP ratio was 0.75, FP ratio 0.004, mean posterior probability 0.75, and likelihood ratio 180, which suggested ultrasonographic screening is relatively sensitive, accurate and effective diagnostic method in abdominal symptom patients.
Statistical characteristics of author¢¥s result were generally low disease prevalence, variable ranged true-positive ratios and posterior probabilities, and small fixed ranged false-positive ratios. Such unique statistical characteristics of author¢¥s result different from those of many other literatural reports suggested single low disease prevalence group similar to large asymptomatic general population is a good statistical sample for objective comparison of efficacy of single diagnostic test in various diseases each other.
